English Drama Club
The English Drama Club at St. Lawrence Convent provides a creative platform for students to explore the world of theatre, literature, and performance. With a strong emphasis on expression, teamwork, and confidence-building, the club has achieved remarkable success. At the 49th All-Island Interschool Shakespeare Drama Competition 2024, our school was recognized among the top seven performing schools, with two students nominated for Best Supporting Actress and one for Best Actress. The club’s powerful rendition of Shakespeare’s tragedy King Lear, staged at the prestigious Lionel Wendt Theatre on the 9th of September, showcased the talent, dedication, and artistic excellence of our students. Through such experiences, the English Drama Club continues to inspire a love for theatre and literature while honing the performance and communication skills of its members.
At the 49th inter school Shakespeare drama Competition St. Lawrence’s Convent was chosen as one of the best seven schools that performed at the All-Island Interschool Shakespeare Drama Competition 2024, with two nominees as the best supporting actresses and one nominee as the best actress.
The girls performed one of Shakespeare’s tragedies, King Lear, at the Lionel Wendt on the 9th of September.
